Although Nashville is welcoming Nissan North America as the auto company prepares to relocate there, the reception is colder for people who sell cars.

A proposed zoning ordinance would restrict automotive uses around Interstate 65 in Franklin, TN, south of Nashville.

Mayor Tom Miller wants to deter car sales and repair facilities near the interstate, in part because Nissan, currently based in California, is moving its U.S. headquarters to a nearby location. The proposed ordinance exempts automotive headquarters.
