A Nissan spot tops iSpot.tv’s ranking of the most-viewed automotive commercials – the ads collecting the most impressions across national broadcast and cable TV airings.

In the first-place ad for the week of Oct. 14, Nissan says the ’20 Altima offers “the most tech-advanced engine in its class” with features such as remote starting and available VC-Turbo.

In the second-place ad from Infiniti, a family begins an adventure at the crack of dawn in their ’20 QX60, leading to a fun-filled day of sandboarding on huge dunes. Meanwhile, in its No. 3 commercial, Subaru declares Oct. 22 “National Make a Dog’s Day,” and urges viewers to think about adopting a shelter dog or do something special for their current furry friend.

Honda takes fourth place with a spot that spells out how safety affects everyone by showing how one man’s life could have been cut short if it wasn’t for the Civic’s ability to “brake before you do.”

The Honda ad has the best iSpot Attention Index (138) in the ranking, getting 38% fewer interruptions than the average auto ad (interruptions include changing the channel, pulling up the guide, fast-forwarding or turning off the TV).

Volkswagen rounds out the ranking with a commercial reminding us that “we’re all on this road together.” Thanks to an alert from the Tiguan’s Overhead View Camera, a mother and daughter avoid backing into an oblivious pedestrian walking behind their SUV.
