DETROIT – Porsche Cars North America Inc. announces the revised ’08 Cayenne cross/utility vehicle with a 290-hp V-6 engine will base price at $43,400 when it arrives at U.S. dealerships March 3.

Formally unveiled at the North American International Auto Show here, the new CUV features a raft of improvements, including more powerful 6- and 8-cyl. direct-injected gasoline engines, revised bodywork and more refined interior treatments.

Mid-level Cayenne S models with the 4.5L DOHC V-8 will base at $57,900, the auto maker says, with the top-end, 500-hp Cayenne Turbo starting at $93,700.

With the revisions, the Cayenne skips the ’07 model year and marks the first time the vehicle has been revised since its introduction in 2004.
