Covisint - It just rolls off the tongue, doesn't it?

It's not a cure for the common cold, but it sounds like it should be. "Covisint," pronounced KO-vis-int, is the new name of the business-to-business Internet portal being created by the Big Three, along with Renault SA and Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. (see WAW - May '00, p.44). Consultants made suggestions, but the winning gem came from within. "Co" stands for connectivity and communication; "vis" is for vision, and "int" is for integration. Any word that needs that much explanation isn't exactly communicating at Internet speed. DaimlerChrysler's Gary Valade is confident we'll all get used to the name. "Pretty soon it will be as much a household word as DaimlerChrysler," he says.
