VIENNA – Francois Provost, Renault’s deputy managing director in Russia, is appointed the new CEO of the auto maker’s Korean subsidiary, Renault Samsung, effective Sept. 1.
Provost began his career at the French Ministry of Economy and Finance and later worked for the Ministry of Defense. He joined Renault in 2002 as director of a dealer center and later was appointed head of regional sales in France.
Provost served as managing director of Renault’s Portuguese subsidiary, Renault Portuguesa, between 2006 and 2008.
He also worked as director for strategy and planning for the auto maker’s commercial division, before transferring to Renault Russia in Moscow in December 2010.
Provost succeeds Jean Marie Hurtiger at Renault Samsung.
Denis Le Vot, Renault’s commercial director-Russia and the Eurasia region, will replace Provost in Moscow.
Fabrice Cambolive has been named successor to Le Vot. He currently is managing director of Renault’s commercial division in Romania, responsible for the sale of Renault, Dacia and Nissan vehicles.
