DS Claims First to Offer ChatGPT as Standard Equipment
French premium brand rolls out AI-powered voice assistant following successful trials with customers.
French luxury brand DS Automobiles claims to be the first automaker to ChatGPT artificial intelligence-powered in-cabin voice assistant as standard in all of its vehicles.
The company has been running pilot programs in several European countries since last October to assess the system running in its Iris infotainment system coupled with DS speech recognition.
It claims that during this test phase, consumer use of speech recognition increased by more than 50%, prompting the roll-out of ChatGPT to all of its cars. Customers buying any of its range starting in March, including the DS 3, DS 4, DS 7 and DS 9 equipped with DS Iris, will integrate this feature in 18 countries and in 13 languages in countries already covered by standard speech recognition.
Olivier François, head of DS Automobiles, says: “As pioneers in the integration of ChatGPT into the automotive world, we are making a generative artificial intelligence that is fluid, intuitive and immersive-accessible, transforming every trip into a unique journey. Our mission at DS is to provide our customers with a unique onboard experience.”
