Stellantis Reports Strong European Sales Start to 2024

Automaker group maintains market leader status in several markets with February sales surge.

Stellantis reports a strong sales surge kicking off 2024 for its products in European markets, with overall growth in volume for February of 12.1% year-on-year.

Its market share also rose marginally to 20.3% with sales in Portugal as a standout, increasing 29.4% and  joining strong growth figures in France, Germany and Italy.

In France, the automaker says its social leasing national campaign saw market growth of 18.5%. In Italy, Stellantis was up 15.6% in overall passenger car and Pro One commercial-vehicle sales compared to last year and confirming its market leadership with six of its models in the nation’s top 10 best sales table, including the Fiat Panda in the top spot. In Germany, the automaker’s sales grew by 13.6%, with market share up to 13.2%.

In the battery-electric-vehicle market covering both passenger car and CV products, Stellantis reports a February increase of 7% year-over-year, taking a 14.7% market share in Europe.

Uwe Hochgeschurtz, Stellantis chief operating officer for enlarged Europe, says: “Sales in February 2024 show that our entire brands and products lineup is delivering steady growing performances In Europe. Electric-vehicle sales continue to rise and Stellantis Pro One bolsters its continuing market leadership in commercial vehicles of all energies, leveraging on a completely new lineup.”
