Sono solar-assisted EV to go into production in second-half 2023.

Automotive supplier Bosch is teaming up with German solar-assisted vehicle manufacturer Sono Motors to run a European network of car repair shops.

The network will be within the framework of the Bosch Car Service workshop concept. Owners of the Sion, Sono’s solar-electric vehicle, will be able to use all services offered by participating car repair shops, including repair, servicing, maintenance and warranty services.

Staff at the 50 Bosch Car Services to be trained in the launch phase will be distributed throughout major cities and rural areas in Germany.

Service staff will receive comprehensive training from Sono to perform repairs on high-voltage, photovoltaic and safety systems with the assistance of, if necessary, Sono’s Technical Field Service.

Both companies expect more service centers will be added in the subsequent rollout to create a comprehensive service network in several European countries.

Laurin Hahn, CEO and co-founder of Sono Motors, says: “We are proud of our strategic partnership with Bosch Car Service, a professional partner for all things automobile, which we believe demonstrates the reputation that we are gaining as an OEM.”
