Americans conduct Google searches for Tesla more than any other auto brand, according to one measurement of online activity.

The battery-electric Tesla is Googled 2.24 million times a month in the U.S., followed by Toyota with 1.83 million searches, according to Click4Reg.co.uk, a U.K.-based personalized number-plates company.

Ford and Honda tied for third with 1.22 million monthly searches apiece, followed by Hyundai and Subaru (both 1 million) and BMW, Jeep, Lamborghini and Nissan (all 823,000). Among other American brands, Chevrolet and Dodge were the subjects of 550,000 monthly searches, followed by Chrysler (301,000), Corvette (246,000) and Hummer (74,000).

The individual model searched the most was the Tesla Model 3, with 673,000 monthly Google queries, followed by the Jeep Wrangler (550,000), Honda Civic (450,000) and Toyota Highlander (368,000). The Ford Explorer, Subaru Ascent, BMW i8, Nissan Rogue, Audi R8, Dodge Charger and Kia Stinger tied for fifth place at 301,000 each.

Of the 45 recognizable brands listed in the study, TVR, an independent U.K. manufacturer of high-end sports cars, was Googled the least by Americans, with just 6,600 searches per month.

Click4Reg.co.uk (https://www.click4reg.co.uk/) says it based its rankings on search-engine data from SEMrush, a marketing analytics platform.
