DS Test Mule BEV 2024
Ooh, la, la! DS tease us with redacted details ahead of full reveal by year's end.

French premium brand DS Automobiles releases its first official image of an upcoming new battery-electric model claiming a range of more than 466 miles (750 km).

In a Stellantis company statement redacted to hide the new model’s identifying moniker, the company says more than 50 heavily camouflaged test mules are riding French roads at the moment ahead of an expected world debut before the end of this year.

Perhaps the only real technical details about what appears to be a 5-door sportback SUV is the claim that the range is achieved thanks to an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of 0.24.

DS says this was achieved by wind tunnel testing of every body panel plus the use of active air intakes installed in the lower part of the front bumper to assist cooling.

However, some other key technical details that are, oddly, redacted in the statement include the length of its wheelbase, the positioning of its DRLS rear lights, what the driver’s front seat provides (beyond the accommodation of a derrière) and how the rear wings of the car are shaped.

Nonetheless, we wait with bated breath to hear what DS has in store for us by Christmas!
