Kia Releases First Official Images of VW ID.3-Rival BEVKia Releases First Official Images of VW ID.3-Rival BEV
Automaker's compact EV4 in both sedan and hatchback versions seen as its main assault on gaining BEV market share in Europe from sector leader Volkswagen.

Kia launches its drive for a bigger market share in the battery-electric-vehicle market with the debut of its compact family car, the EV4.
The model, seen as a direct rival to the Volkswagen ID.3 to be marketed in both hatchback and sedan versions, will be officially unveiled at the Kia EV Day in Tarragona, Spain.
Powertrain details are being withheld until the launch but Kia emphasizes on appealing to European lifestyle conventions to appeal to as broad a user demographic as possible.
This is reflected in its design which sits firmly in the crossover/SUV styling that remains a main driver in most European markets boasting bold, chunky bodylines and wheel arches lined by robust protectors.
Kia says the model will specifically set the design language for its future BEV sedans sold in Europe.
A unique design flourish for the EV4 sedan is a 2-piece roof spoiler to lend a premium sports touch to its profile and intricately machined 19-in. wheels. Its hatchback sibling shares the machined 19-in. wheels but adds chunky fenders, wide-positioned taillights and a sloping rear window.
The automaker says there will also be a special EV4 GT-Line with wing-shaped front and rear bumpers and sportier 19-in. wheels.
Karim Habib, executive vice president and head of Kia Global Design, says: “The Kia EV4 is a clear reflection of our commitment to rethink mobility and expand the boundaries of what design can achieve. By offering both saloon and hatchback variants, we are bringing to our customers the unique experience of modernity and practicality that defines the Kia EV family in a way that suits their varied lifestyles and needs.”
