Kia will unveil two new battery-electric-vehicle models and a new concept vehicle in a mass global debut in Spain later this month.
Seen as underscoring the automaker’s confidence in future European BEV sales, Kia is moving its official EV Day from its Korea home base to Tarraco Arena in Tarragona, Spain, on Feb. 27.
The event will pull the wraps off the Kia EV4, whose concept version was first shown at the brand’s first EV Day in 2023.
Also to debut will be a series production PV5 people carrier, the first model to use Kia’s new Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) architecture that made its concept debut at CES 2024 in Las Vegas.
Kia says it will share its overall PBV strategy, providing full details of the business, vision, product lineup and launch to support the rollout of the PV5. It adds this dedicated BEV skateboard architecture enables the flexible combination of various types of vehicle bodies for both passenger and commercial uses.
Lastly, Kia will show its latest all-electric compact concept, the EV2, and releases detailed images of the three models ahead of their global debut.
Key members of Kia’s senior leadership team will also reveal the automaker’s expanded electrification strategy.
