Nissan brings its Nismo performance brand plate back to European markets in the shape of its battery-electric Ariya Nismo compact sporting crossover.

Full powertrain details are set to be revealed later in the year ahead of the model’s debut, but we are told the Ariya Nismo EV crossover comes with a number of improved parts and offers Nismo tuning.

It claims higher performance thanks to a tuned version of Nissan’s vehicle dynamic control (VDC) suspension and chassis system, coupled with high-grip tires and a modified e-4ORCE electric powertrain for improved power and torque distribution to the wheels.

Nissan claims these modifications will deliver handling and cornering abilities usually reserved for motorsports.

Inside, a black sports interior is complemented by spicy red accents to special sports seats inspired by the brand’s Formula E racing cars.

Mayra González, divisional vice president, marketing and sales of Nissan Europe, says: “Nismo is back in Europe! We are bringing this exciting brand back into our market with a new and refreshed model. As we push forward the electrification of our lineup, it’s essential that we continue to offer elite and exciting models to customers and Nismo enthusiasts as well.”
