VIENNA – Toyota’s Alphard luxury minivan hits Russia this week, making the market the first outside of Asia to offer the vehicle.
The Alphard is manufactured in Japan mainly for sale locally.
The vehicle, powered by a 275-hp, 3.5L gasoline engine, starts at RR2.485 million ($83,145) in Russia.
Japanese manufacturers sell several cars in Russia, as well as the Commonwealth of Independent States, that are not available in most European markets.
The list includes the Nissan Teana and Toyota Camry, both assembled in Russia, as well as the imported Honda Crosstour and Pilot; Nissan Almera Classic and Patrol; and Toyota Highlander.
