Toyota Motor Corp. reportedly has pushed back the debut of its new Tundra fullsize pickup truck slightly, from late this year to early next year.

Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. Inc. CEO Yukitoshi Funo tells Bloomberg the auto maker now is planning on an early 2007 launch to attract buyers, rather than try to rollout the new model during the holidays when consumers are distracted.

Jim Press, president-TMSUSA, said at the recent Detroit auto show the new '07 Tundra will debut this month at the Chicago auto show.

Tundra will be the first model to be built at Toyota's new San Antonio pickup truck plant, coming online this fall.
