Grenadier Quartermaster 'Ready for Christmas'... in Europe

Specialist off-road vehicle maker Ineos Automotive announces that series production of its Grenadier Quartermaster double-cab pickup truck has begun readying for pre-Christmas deliveries in Europe.

U.S. fans of the ‘Series IV’ Land Rover Defender lookalike will have to wait until early in 2024 after deliveries begin in Asia Pacific, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East. The 5-seat double cab is built in tandem with the Grenadier Station Wagon on the same production line at Hambach, France.

It features the same old-school basics as its station wagon sibling including full box-section ladder-frame chassis, heavy-duty solid beam axles, two-speed transfer case and up to three locking differentials. Power comes from a choice of BMW 3.0L turbocharged inline 6-cyl. gasoline or diesel engines, driving all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission from ZF.

Its carrying capacity comes from being the largest vehicle in the Grenadier range boasting a wheelbase of 3,227 mm (127 ins.) enabling a payload of up to 760 kg (1,672 lbs) and the ability to carry a standard 1,200-mm (47-ins) x 800 mm (31.5-ins) Euro pallet. The automaker says the basic platform will also target conversion specialists and commercial body builders. Prices in the U.S. are expected to start from $110,000.
