Seventh-Gen Mustang to Debut at Detroit Auto Show
Various media reports say the seventh-generation Mustang will be the last gasoline-powered version of the sports car and a battery-electric model is planned for around 2028.
Ford’s seventh-generation Mustang will make its global debut Sept. 14 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The event, titled The Stampede, will welcome Mustang owners, fans, media and Ford employees to Hart Plaza downtown. The Stampede will be broadcast live on social channels, including Ford’s YouTube website and Facebook page.
Various media reports say the seventh-generation Mustang will be the last gasoline-powered version of the sports car and a battery-electric model is planned for around 2028. Ford already produces a BEV with Mustang styling cues, the Mustang Mach-E CUV, which arrived on the market in late 2021.

Ahead of the unveiling, Ford, America’s Automotive Trust and the auto show are collaborating on The Drive Home, a cross-country road trip with all six generations of Mustang. Owners and enthusiasts are invited to The Drive Home, which begins Sept. 6 at LeMay – America’s Car Museum in Tacoma, WA. Participants will cross nine states, before owners gather at Ford World Headquarters in Dearborn, MI, to parade together to The Stampede reveal event.Mustang owners interested in joining The Drive Home or attending The Stampede debut event can find more details and registration at www.mustangstampededetroit.com.

Entering its seventh year, The Drive Home celebrates America’s motoring legacy throughout the country in the days leading up to the Detroit auto show.
