LOS ANGELES – Volkswagen of America adds some pizzazz to its recently launched Tiguan CUV, rolling out a sporty R-Line version of the model at the auto show here.

The R-Line trim package includes 19.-in. aluminum wheels on SEL models and 20-in. aluminum discs on SEL Premium models. Unique front and rear bumpers, body-color wheel-arch extensions, side skirts and R-Line badging complete the exterior treatment.

Inside is special R-Line badging on the steering wheel, stainless-steel pedal covers and stainless-steel door sills. There’s also a special black headliner, and the R-Line logo appears on the entertainment-center screen at startup.

VW did not announce pricing or indicate when the new models would arrive at U.S. showrooms in information released prior to the L.A. show debut.
