Royal Automotive Inc. is building a new 15,000-sq.-ft facility for its Volkswagen franchise in Vertavia Hills near Birmingham, AL.

It's expected to be done by July 1, and will include a computer kiosk with Internet access, a customer business center, children's play area, dedicated customer waiting area, service write-up area and new car delivery section.

It will follow Volkswagen of America's euro-look “Marketplace” design for new facilities, a concept that strives for a warm and friendly environment to enhance the “customer experience.”

Royal is 30 years old. Dave Belcher is president. Royal's other franchises include GMC, Volvo, Saturn, Olds and Isuzu.
