Volvo Car Corp.’s YCC (Your Concept Car) receives the Swedish “Design S” award.

The award highlights contemporary Swedish design expertise and supports design as a value-enhancing tool.

A jury selected the YCC because it “wanted to give recognition to practical design and excellent problem-solving using design as a method,” Volvo says.

The YCC, which bowed at the Geneva auto show in 2004, was created entirely by a team of women and received nine awards, including the Design S, since its debut.
