Frederic Lissalde, a 19-year veteran of BorgWarner, is named the automotive supplier’s president and CEO, effective Aug. 1.

James R. Verrier (pictured at lower right) will step down from the president and CEO role on that date and will serve in a non-executive advisory role to the Board of Directors and CEO to support a successful transition until he retires from the company Feb. 28, 2019, BorgWarner says in a news release.

Previous positions include president and general manager-BorgWarner Turbo Systems, the company's largest business; vice president and general manager-BorgWarner Transmissions Systems; and vice president of global sales and marketing-BorgWarner Drivetrain Systems.

He also served in Europe as managing director of several operations for BorgWarner Drivetrain Systems.

Lissalde holds a master’s degree in engineering from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts et Metiers and an MBA from HEC, both in Paris.

“James has done a remarkable job of leading the organization and evolving the company’s vision, strategy and product portfolio to be well aligned with the global industry trends,” says Alexis P.
